Board Members
President - Daniel Baird
 
Dan started off on the board by recommending his wife for the board initially.  After agreeing to serve himself after she sent him back, he has progressed to his current role over the years by simply saying yes and being willing to serve.  He has a wife, 4 kids, three of which live here full time while attending local schools, and two dogs as well. 
Shall preside at meetings of the Board of Directors; shall see that orders and resolutions of the board are carried out; shall sign all leases, mortgages, deeds and other written instruments and shall co-sign all checks and promissory notes, except as may be otherwise approved by the Board of Directors.  
 
Vice President - Robert De La Garza
 
Robert has been in the community since 2005.  He has an engineering and architectural background.  He is a great resource and offers a real sense of service to our community.  He loves his pets and is avid walker in the community as well. 
Shall act in the place and stead of the President in the event of his absence, inability or refusal to act, and shall exercise and discharge such duties as may be required of him by the board.  Coordinates Quarterly Newsletter with board recommendations.
 
Treasurer - Justin Dean
Justin has lived in Braun Oaks since 2016.  He is married with 2 young kids at home.  He has been practicing law since 2013. 
 
Shall receive and deposit in appropriate bank accounts all monies of the Association, and shall disburse such funds as directed by resolution of the Board of Directors; shall sign all checks and promissory notes of the Association; keep proper books of account; cause an annual audit of the Association books to be made by a public accountant at the completion of each fiscal year; and shall prepare an annual budget and a statement of income and expenditures to be presented to the membership at its regular annual meeting, and deliver a copy to the Members.
 
Secretary - Alesa Arnett
 
Alesa and her family chose Braun Oaks as home in 2008. She is a retired Air Force Medic and continued  full-time work until 2018.  In addition to being called 'Mom' and 'Nanna', she is her Mom's Caregiver and a Fitness Coach for Women. She enjoys being involved in our beautiful community and looks forward to seeing you at future events!
Shall record the votes and keep the minutes of all meetings and proceedings of the board and of the Members; serve notice of meetings of the board and of the Members; keep appropriate current records showing the Members of the Association together with their addresses, and shall perform other duties as required by the board.
 
Member at Large - Alicia Reeves
 
My husband, Ed and I moved from New Jersey to San Antonio in 2016.  We have 4 grown children and 5 grandchildren.  My work history includes social work, brain injury specialist, substitute teacher, missionary and insurance claims. Retirement has given me new opportunities to be salt and light in the community we have chosen to call home.
Maintain communication with community and assist the other officers in their duties. Updates website as needed and assists in organization of community events as able. 
 
Bookkeeper - Laura Bruha
 
 
Laura has been living in Braun Oaks since her home was built here.  She is very active in the community outside of her role as our HOA Bookkeeper.  She has a husband, young son, and a beautiful dog as well.
Laura is responsible for all the neighborhood bookkeeping, association dues, information related to resale certificates and title transfers as well as reserving the clubhouse or pool.  She can be reached at rentals@braunoaks.org for inquires related to swimming pool and club house rentals. Facilities Manager - David Bertch
 
David is school coach by profession and has seen many of the local kids grow up over the years.  He lives in our community and has a wife, now grown kids, and some fine guard dogs as well. David is an avid bike rider and does a lot to ensure our facilities are as well maintained as possible.
David is responsible for the upkeep of our pool, clubhouse and tennis facilities and can be reached at david.bertsch@nisd.net for inquires related to swimming pool, lifeguard employment, and general grounds upkeep.
 
Swim Team Rep: Nina Clarkson
 
The Swim Team Rep is responsible for managing the Braun Oaks Swim Club and Braun Oaks Swim Club account with the Bookkeeper.

The Board of Directors have the power to:
  • Enforce collection of assessments; 
  • Contract services for maintenance of common areas; 
  • Act in the name of the Association; 
  • Fix the amount of the assessment; 
  • Hold an annual meeting of the members (mandatory);
  • Maintain proper records, including but not limited to finances.

Halloween is not canceled in 2020, it’s just different. Celebrate safely with your newfound safe social distancing and hygiene skills.
Please turn off your porch lights if you are sick or do not plan on participating.
 
Handing Out Treats
Don’t hand out candy if you or someone in your household is feeling sick.
Don’t require trick-or-treaters to come up to your front door. Participate in distanced trick-or-treating. Find creative ways to create space between you and the trick-or-treaters.
Prepare individually wrapped goodie bags or leave individually wrapped candy for families to grab and go on a disinfected table at the end of a driveway or at the edge of a yard.
Be sure to disinfect the table periodically.
When preparing goodie bags, be sure to wash your hands with soap for 20 seconds before and after.
